Hello
I’m Jessalyn — Founder & Curriculum Developer at The Playroom Curriculum Co.
My Story
Program development has always been my passion, and I’m honored to create meaningful, child-centered learning experiences for families and communities. I hold a Master’s degree in Community Psychology with a specialization in Program Development, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of impactful programs — from a community health initiative through Yale, to trauma-informed therapy in elementary schools, to leading curriculum for an international developmental children's program.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began I developed a hybrid learning school — an experience that deepened my commitment to innovation, adaptability, and building community. During my time there, I developed comprehensive curricula for children ages 0–12, rooted in developmental science and designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and joy.

In addition to developing programs through The Playroom Curriculum Co., I also work as a consultant for small businesses, franchises, and private equity groups that specialize in children’s programs. I love supporting organizations in building thoughtful, developmentally appropriate offerings that are both impactful and scalable.

I’m also the owner of The Playroom, an indoor play space in Morgantown, WV, where I bring my curriculum to life in real time. It’s a joyful, hands-on space where children explore, learn, and play through the programs I design.

Now, as a mom to two sweet little ones, my work has taken on even more meaning. I’m deeply committed to creating playful, research-informed programs that meet children where they are — and help them thrive.
