It’s hard to believe The Playroom has already been open for a full year! When we first opened our doors, our goal was simple: to create a welcoming, playful space where little ones could explore, imagine, and learn — and where parents could relax and connect.
As we look back on our first year, we’re so grateful for the families who’ve made The Playroom part of their lives. You’ve helped us grow, learn, and evolve in ways we never could’ve imagined. Here’s a peek behind the scenes at what we’ve learned (and how we’ve refined things!) during our first twelve months of fun.

🎂 Refining the Birthday Party Experience
We’ve hosted so many wonderful birthday celebrations, especially first birthdays — and one big surprise? Many of our parties actually have more adults than kids! That insight has helped us rethink our setup to make sure everyone, big and small, has a great time. We’ve refined our party layouts to better accommodate more grown-ups, including arranging the space for a better flow between play and social spaces.
Another not as surprising surprise? Our birthday parents love to customize their party! Because of this we’ve introduced more add-ons and options, including:
🎈 MinniDip balloons for that extra pop of color and joy
📸 A fun photo booth for capturing memories
🎨 Themed party packages to match your child’s big day
And don’t worry — we’re already dreaming up even more upgrades for year two!
🧸 Perfecting Our Toy Curation
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned? The right toy combinations make all the difference. Through lots of observation, cleaning, and plenty of playtesting, we’ve fine-tuned which toys work best together on the play floor.
We’ve found the sweet spot in mixing:
Pretend play toys that spark imagination
Cause-and-effect toys that encourage exploration
Learning and sensory toys that engage curious minds
Multi-age toys so siblings and friends can play side by side
It’s been amazing to see how these thoughtful pairings create smoother play experiences and keep the energy joyful, safe, and balanced.
🎟️ Learning What Events Families Love
Over the past year, we’ve experimented with lots of events — some hits, and some misses (we’ll be honest!).
Our playgroups and holiday events have been big favorites, bringing families together to celebrate, connect, and create memories. But we’ve learned that drop-off events just don’t resonate with our community right now — and that’s okay! Every event teaches us more about what our families are looking for and how we can best serve them.
☕ Where We’re Headed in Year Two
We’re beyond excited about what’s coming next. In year two, The Playroom is growing — literally!
We’re adding a coffee shop and expanding our space by almost 1000 square feet. This means:
More room for birthday parties, baby showers, and other special events
Space for new programs, like homeschool gatherings and co-working sessions
A delicious full coffee menu that will also feature Lotus drinks
Our goal remains the same: to be a place where families can connect through play and community — but now, with even more ways to enjoy your time together.
